Android before the iPhone in the U.S.

Between the months of October and December, 28.7% of American multipurpose telephone users had an Android-run device, which represents a 7 point gain in comparison to the previous term.
At the same time, BlackBerry has lost close to 6 points and has dropped down to 31.6% of the market share.
Apple has gone from second to third place, with a 0.7 point gain and a 25% market share. Microsoft, which launched its latest Windows Phone 7 system in the middle of the quarter, was pushed back to 8.4% and lost 1.5 points. Hewlett-Packard’s Palm went from 0.5 points to 3.7%.
In all, the market has boomed throughout the year; in fact, there was a 60% leap over the course of a year, which represents a total of 63.2 million users of devices that combine both phone and pocket computer features;
