How companies can spread the word about their Facebook page

1 - Make sure to put an emphasized Like Box on your website and use widgets developed by Facebook, available on the Social Plugins page. These sharing tools are the focal point that will help you promote your page and, at the same time, your company and website.



2 - Use traditional media to promote your Facebook page. Stemming from the cross-media philosophy, this strategy aims to take advantage of advertisement media to direct audience members to your Facebook page. Here is a concrete and relevant example: Mini’s 2011-2012 advertisement flyers for the winter season that I personally received last Thursday. A great stunt from Mini!





3 - Do you already have a newsletter system set up? Make the most of it to spread the word about your Facebook page in a targeted mailing and make sure to include clickable links to your social networks in each mailing.

4 - You should seriously consider using Facebook Ads marketing tools. Other than having the power to target your audience by location, age, type of expertise or job, you will benefit from the opportunity to characterize your audience members by the interests they’ve disclosed on their personal profile (thanks to keyword analysis, your ad will be displayed on the profile of users who could be potentially attracted by it). Obviously, each user can also see, at first glance, who among their community is a fan of your page. Facebook Ads offers various types of advertisement and packages at affordable rates with the advantage of reaching out to the right audience.

5 - Launch a viral contest. A simple strategy that gives way to creativity, Facebook viral contests are an excellent way to create buzz and to get liked by a VERY large number of users. Just make sure to get informed about the rules imposed by Facebook for contests and promotions.

6 - Lastly, make sure your Facebook page has added-value that will attract your audience members so that there can be something for everyone!
