What is a QR code?

This image refers to what we call a QR code. It's a special kind of barcode that can possibly contain a link to a web page, a phone number or someone's contact information. It is therefore possible to access a website, dial a phone number or to quickly save a contact in your address book, without having to write it down, by reading the QR code with your smartphone's camera. To do so, you simply have to install a small application which decrypts information contained in the code. Thankfully, there are many free applications available.

• On an Android phone, look for the Barcode Scanner application in Android Market or use the i-nigma application (see below)
• On most other types of phones (for instance iPhone and Blackberry), you can download the i-nigma application by visiting http://i-nigma.mobi with your smartphone.

The only thing left for you to do is to open the application and point your phone's camera towards the QR code so you can enjoy all the possibilities that are offered to you.
