Bilingual WordPress Programmer

At Vortex Solution, the WordPress Programmer is not someone who installs and customizes commercial themes. No-no, we do real programming! The WordPress Programmer supports the Project Managers and Account Executives in analyzing and implementing applications based on clients’ needs and requirements. He/She will closely collaborate with front-end programmers to build WordPress-based websites.


Type of position: Permanent

Schedule: Full-time (37.5h/week)

Key responsibilities

  • Create websites and online applications using WordPress
  • Apply WordPress best practices and show good knowledge of standard plugins.
  • Do object-oriented PHP 7 development with WordPress
    • Knowledge of WordPress’ built-in functions (CPT, taxonomies, filters, actions, HTTP API, Gutenberg, CRON scheduled events…)
    • Implementation of complex and tailored features that are conform with the technical and functional analysis (internal routines, communication processes using external resources…)
    • Experience with API (web services), using and writing them
  • Ensure the quality of his/her own code (functionality, structure, PHPCS validation…) and participate in code-reviews (we are Clean Code enthusiasts!)
  • Execute maintenance operations
  • Assess and forecast the stability and future development of applications


College or university diploma in computer science or equivalent


2 years of (backend) programming with WordPress are desired

Essential Technical Skills

  • Experience in the development of web applications and WordPress plugins (real programming, not through the use of available themes and plugins)
  • Good knowledge of JavaScript (vanilla, ES6 is a bonus), TypeScript is an advantage
  • Use of git, knowledge of git flow
  • Proficient in French at a professional level
