Challenge

A prestigious art gallery nestled in the heart of the sumptuous Ritz-Carlton Montreal, Cosner Gallery specializes in the purchase, sale, appraisal and consignation of Quebec and Canadian paintings.

Cosner Gallery wanted to increase the artists’ visibility whose works it exhibits, position its website on the first pages of search results by artist name, and attract more qualified visitors to the site.

Solution

The addition of an “Artists” page to the website where each artist has its own dedicated space, has improved the organic SEO on the artists’ names. This new directory of Quebec and Canadian artists have become the driving force of the site’s performance. It allowed Cosner Gallery to appear in the first search results of several artists in demand and drive qualified traffic by attracting people interested in buying or selling paintings.

The content on the pages dedicated to the artists went through SEO optimization. Rich snippets were implemented, and artist profiles with calls to action were added to contact the gallery quickly.

The results speak for themselves: since the plan’s implementation, organic traffic has grown steadily every year, increasing by more than 130% in two years and 60% per year. Google Ads has generated a boost in traffic of more than 40% over a 3-year period while keeping the same budget. The conversion rate resulted in an increase of almost 50% in the number of forms received between 2018 and 2019. The year 2020 continues on the same path: the conversion rate has already surpassed the 2019 results, even though there are still two months left in the year and despite the difficult conditions resulting from the pandemic.
